    Hi
Anyone got an idea were the screen inverter hides on a advent roma 2000 laptop? I have searched for a manual online but had no luck :-( I have had a look at the bottom of the screen but not there?

Have you removed the bezel from around the front of the screen?

If so, can't you trace the wires from the connector on the back of the lcd panel down to the inverter?

This is a picture of a inverter and its associated cable:--

Did that already but the wires seem to disappear within the Motherboard part but without the manual i cant get the rest of the casing off! I have the replacement part but i have never changed one that was not in the screen area, seems very odd

I had a look for a manual also - but didn't find anything.

According to here (second post down), it is a re-badged ECS I50IL1.
The link provided for the manual download doesn't seem to be working at the moment though.

    Oops! wrong link.

This link gives the equivalent ECS model number for the Roma 2000.

Resolved. Quick update for anyone else who may be stuck with this issue:
I found a user manual for the ECS I50IL1 laptop on the EC website ECS Web Site. Could not find a service manual anywhere.
in the end i removed every screw from the bottom of the laptop and removed the case from the bottom.
Anyway to cut a long story short there is no inverter on this screen model! Managed to get one for £40
