Hi there does anyone know anything about Advent and there new job guarantee they are offering. it states in the ad "Guaranteed job, salaries up to 25000"

Dont really see how anyone can guarantee this unless there is a strict criteria that you have to fulfill first.

Does anyone know how these things normally work

Just to put a slight spin on it, You could be earning upto £25k, and we GUARANTEE that is a realistic salary if you pass all of our courses.

No where can realisticly guarantee you a job, all they can do is help you to find one, That may mean taking anything that they offer you, e.g. a Data Entry Clerk. If you turn it down then they can say "well we offered you a job".

 

It's the 'up to' bit that's important.
It means 'less than'.
Ever seen that in the shops where they advertise 'up to 50% off' and when you get to the till you find that what you've bought has 5% off...

 

Surely though anyone who guarantees a job is leaving themselves wide open. You could be offered a job as data entry clerk and deliberately fail the interview by acting thick or something just so that you can sue them, thats why I wondered if anyone had been involved in these so called job guarantee's before.

 

Small print mate, always read the small print...

 

I find it hard to believe that people can guarantee a job unless it is with their own company of course.

Employers look for more than just certs when recruiting.
