Advent 8117 wont startup

    just turned the above mentioned laptop on and it just wont go. it gets as far as the mircosoft corp logo and the moving lines and thats it. it wont start up in safe mode, wont run recovery from hard drive nor from cd drive. completely stuck. running vista. all help welcome

    Have you tried a repair install from the Vista DVD (if you have one) ?

    Also try safe mode with network support.

    does it get completely stuck when trying load up in safe mode aswell?
    Could be one of the componoents gone bad, how competent are you in opening up the computer?
