I want to insstall the Windows 2000 Admin Tools on a client PC. I have logged on as admin and copied the adminpak.msi file from the system32 folder on the server to my local desktop. When I try to run the install I get so far and then an error message comes up saying that the Windows Installer Service cannot update one or more protected windows files.

I tried it on another machine (also Win 2k pro) and it works fine. I Logged on with domain admin account on both PCs so shouldn't be a rights problem.

    Any ideas?

Have you tried running the setup from the Support folder on the actual CD?
