AdminPak.msi

    Ive installed adminpak.msi on my workstation so i can remotely get to the active directory users and computers snap in. But when i open it i get these error messages



    Any ideas?

    The message says Snap-In Falied To initialze. Name: <UNKNOWN> CLSID:{E355E538-1C2E-11D0-8C37-00C04FD8FE93}. ??

    Question - Are the tools installed on the same computer that you are having problems attaching to the domain? For the snap in's to work you need to me attached to the domain.

    No they are on another computer thats connected to the domain

    that does not seem to make any difference the error message just comes up again

    Just a quick thought (not sure if it will work for you or not), when I was having problems with the adminpak tool from the Windows Server 2000 CD, I downloaded & installed the Windows 2k3 admin toolkit.

    Like I said I don't know if it'll work for you (but it's worth a try). Hope you get it sorted.

    p.s. the 2k3 adminpak.msi does work with both the Server 2k3 & 2k family
