Is the RAM slot underneath the keyboard (i.e. did you have to remove the keyboard to install the RAM module)? If so, you probably didn't replace the keyboard ribbon connector properly, or dislodged it when you were installing.

Did you tip the laptop upside down when installing the RAM this may have made the keyboard to become dislodged from the cable. Have you checked the RAM is compatible and installed correctly?

you will have to take the keyboard out and reconnect the cable. MAke sure you try all other routes before taking the keyboard out. By that I mean make sure the RAM is compatible and that it is in correctly.

It should just lift of if you have unloosened the clips, check your manual it may tell you how to do it.

Did you try replacing the new RAM back with the old RAM just to see if the keyboard works that way?
    What does 'Device Manager' show?

    Typical Sony! :biggrin

Does the laptop boot ok and have you tried an external keyboard?

I take it you had the battery out when you upgraded the RAM?
