Just wondering about how long memtest should run? I'm testing my RAM (1.5 GB) and now it's almost finished the 4th pass and about 4 hours with no errors found. Is this normal as I've never used it before?

I don't know but I just wanted to say that I'm jealous...my lab machine is only running 1.25 GB of RAM.

Thanks Trip but I would rather have what you have and it up and running properly than what I have now.

i would say to keep it running for the whole load, or at least 50 passes. you should bear in mind that unless the RAM is utterly b*ggered then any errors would show up intermittently. so four passes doesnt give a good indicator of reliability, etc.

    course, i could be wrong!

Thanks Fergal. I've had it running for 8 passes (5.5 hours) and not a problem has shown up. Just rebooted and wtf, it started windows and it looks ok. Got me stumped as to whats happening.

I'm just remembering that last time it did a basic pass and just spewed out errors everywhere.
