    Hi folks

I thought this may interest you...

for the uninitiated, google is a great resource, but often underutilised. One little trick is use a lot is the ability of google to restrict its search to certain domains.

For example, when studying a course, or indeed prepping one to teach, I use googles site feature to look for SPECIFIC DOCUMENTS in SPECIFIC SITES.

eg. powerpoint slides in educational establishments. Works a treat.

For example, to look for network+ slides try
    site:*.edu network+ .ppt

US colleges often have a wealth of info there for the reading..
    good luck!

    good tip there, clyde.

without trying to hijack this thread, but i'd like to point out another overlooked google feature, namely google groups. especially when researching tech problems, i have found many solutions there that i couldn't find anywhere else.

I like the define: function, eg

    define: astronomy

brings up a plethora of specific definitions of the term, along with links to sites with much more information.
