    Hi

I've already got these two certs but they're the older ones. They are listed in my MCP profile so clearly they are still valid

Does anyone know how long they are valid for though?

I'm just the 291 away from MCSA now which I'm taking next week

    Thanks

    Hi Gary,

I was going to add the A+ and N+ to my profile, but didn't when I started studying towards MCDST.

Although there are newer exam objectives for the A+, one of the good things with Comptia is the certifications are valid for life. Check with MS, but if you have done A+, N+, 270, 290 (?) already, 291 should get you MCSA.

    Hi Si

It's still included in my profile and I haven't been able to find anything to say it would become invalid, just thought I'd ask incase anyone here had heard anything

    thanks

According to MS's website the A+ & Network+ isn't an option for the 2k route, however for the (MCSA) 2k3 route it is still a valid option.

See here, almost at end of page.

I have checked with CompTIA on this, as I had a similar quandry (and started a thread somewhere)

The MCSA w2k listings on the ms site are not complete , ie it is missing the A+ & N+ combo!

When I wrote to CompTIA asking about it, the reply was
    hope that helps
    :)

    Hi Ken

I was aware that the A+ and N+ still counted as an elective, my query was more whether the older A+ and N+ would become invalid in favour of the new A+ (2006) and N+(2005) as the certs I have are Pre 2006 and pre 2005

    Regards

    Gary

A+ and N+ do not expire though the option is there for you to sit the updated exams if you so wish.

It doesn't matter what version (N+ is N+, A+ is A+, no matter what version), MS has already credited your account so don't worry :)
