Bit of a long shot here guys.

I know people all learn at different levels etc but I'm after some advice.

I need to put someone who works for me through their A+.

How long roughly would it take to self study for the A+ exam? :D:)

    Thanks guys.

    Hi Welcome :)

It all depends on how experienced they are, if there are up on current technologies and have a good amount of knowledge and on the job experience then it could take a month or less. If they are not it could take longer.

BTW you need to pass 2 exams to be A+ certified.

ok thanks very much. Well i was hoping you were going to say 1 month because I would like him to do it by then. I noticed another post saying I could by the vouchers online. Anything in particular to watch out for?

Keep in mind that the most-recommended study guide is 1100ish pages long... you sure you want to *require* that a poor tech study that much in a month? :ohmy Not counting taking practice exams and such... just sayin'. Plus, the extra stress of a deadline could cause them to perform poorly on the exams.

Might they get it done in a month? Sure. But what GBL is saying is that it might take less than a month... it might take several months.

make sure you buy international vouchers as UK vouchers are not made anymore. I bought mine from www.gracetechsolutions.com for £107 each no VAT to pay, if you pay pearson vue directly its £111 + VAt which makes about £266 in total instead of £214

You better get the best books for the tech then. Which are: compTIA A+ all in one exam guide 6th edition by Mike Meyers (1136 pages long) and PC Technician street smarts by James Pyles (not very long).

If its just qualifications for a tender you might as well do the A+ yourself so you know it will be done in time.

Slightly different question how long do you get for the exam?

I was wondering how long i would have per question on average.
