No where near ready to sit either of the exams but two questions pop into my head.

    1) How many questions in each exam?
    2) What is the pass rate?

Q2 i have been told is 70% but not sure if this is accurate.

    Thanks

    Hi Ian,

    Found this at http://www.comptia.org/certification/a/glancebox.aspx

    CompTIA A+® Overview

Number of exam parts Two - A+ Core hardware and A+ OS Technological
Number of Questions Approx. 80 questions on each part
Exam format Linear format; computer-based test (CBT)
Exam Duration 90 minutes to complete each A+ 2003 exam
    Recommended Experience Entry-level
    Minimum Passing Score A+ Core: 515, A+ OS: 505.
Languages Available English, Arabic, Dutch, German, Japanese, Korean and Spanish

Hmm...80 questions is quite a lot! I think you'll be ok considering that they all may be one sentence type questions!

    Hope that helps

    Cheers

    Thanks for the replys.

Still a little confused by the pass mark thing.
Where does 515 etc fit into it?

    Regards

    Hi Ian,

Comptia exams are graded on a scale from 100 - 900 :blink (why? -don't ask me). 505 and 515 are about 63-65% of 800 points on the scale.
With 80 questions and 800 points available it possibly makes the final maths easier to calculate when you think about the questions where you have more than one correct answer.

    Cheers
