The two most recommended books for the A+ are compTIA A+ all in one exam guide 6th edition by Mike Meyers & PC Technician street smarts by James Pyles.

What have you been using to study with?

Have you actually practiced anything like installing graphics cards & RAM or installing windows and setting user permission.

As has been said on this forum before learning by doing is better than just reading a book or watching a video.

What have you found difficult maybe we can help.

Link for amir's book is here - the reviews don't look all that promising.

I went through the reviews carefully before choosing a book. I bought the Jean Andrews book (I didn't know about this forum then) and the PC Street Smarts, I'll probably get the Mike Meyers book too for extra input based on all the recommendations it's getting on here.

Are you failing the same topics each time, or is it an overall thing?

Hmmm...you're right. The reviews weren't that hot but as one reviewer pointed out, production of the book may have been rushed to meet the demand and the quality suffered. That's kind of a concern since Sybex has bundled my book with this one and their other A+ titles (reviews for the bundle itself remain good). I feel bad about the A+ Complete Study Guide since Docter, Dulaney, and Skandier are generally quite good authors.

Yup... Skandier wrote the Network Administrator StreetSmarts, which I have and is good.
