A couple Of Small Newbie Questions On The MCDST

Hello all,

Just a couple of questions if someone would be so kind to answer,

1. To gain the title MCDST I have to take two exams: 070-271 & 070-272?

2. I can take them both at a Prometric Tesing Center @ £88 a attempt?

3. Its a Level 1 course round about the same as the A+ (Don't shoot me! I mean its not CCNA Level etc)?

These books will give me all I need to learn and pass the respective exam?

5. And after I pass both I contact Microsoft to get my peices of paper?

1. Yes they make up the MCDST
2. Yes only prometric do MS exams now....
3. Not sure what you mean by level one.. but they harder than A+ exams - apparently because i never took an A+ exam so im not sure - but i have done the MCDST before.
4. Yes that is one of the books you need, along with the 272 version for the respective exam.
5. After you pass you will get an MCP number and password via email - you will need these to log onto the MCP site and order your certificates - or bits of paper as you like to call them!

And dont worry about anyone shooting you.. we all once didnt have certs behind our names!
