This may sound like a silly question, but how long is the A+ certification valid for after passing the exams.

I ask this, cos I believe some certifications like the CCNA are only valid for like 2 years or thats what I heard anyway!

The A+ doesn't have an expiry. You're stuck with it for life! :biggrin

    Hi there guys!

I'd just like to extend the question...

What happens to your qualification when it's reviewed?

I mean, if I get certified in a couple of months (God only knows lol), what happens when the new A+ takes place (I think at the end of this year??)? Will I have to, like, 'update' something?

BTW I know that in IT updates come on a hourly(jesus) basis and one should always be up to date...

From the FAQ on CompTIA's site:

You can retake it on a later set of objectives if you wish - but there is no compulsion to do so.

Get the A+ and you hold it for life. You do not have to upgrade when the newer objectives are released. You can take the new test if you wish, but you will still be A+ certified if you don't.
