i have the sis editions of mike seyers all in one A+ exams is it sufficent to pass the two exams has the objectives change in 30 june ? anyway i come only across about CPu package has PGA what is OLGA, LGA and SEC? sorry again i want a confirmation does a socket matches the number of pins that a CPU /microprocessor has? and the most confusing to me is wattage is it the smaler the better or too depend how power hungry they are ? thank you for your answer for my selly question lol

When you are new to these things then the questions are *not* silly!

I don't have the 6th edition yet, so can't be specific on that.

However - the 6th ed covers what is soon to be the *only* version of the exam. The previous version was covered by the 5th edition. Which ends, as you so rightly say, on the 30th of this month.

In general - these days the socket number is in fact the number of pins on the CPU.

And as for power - the lower the better for heat problems. However it isn't quite as simple as that, as the more power (processing wise) a CPU has the higher the wattage. So it is a balancing act!

and as for the cpu packages

    PGA - Pin Grid Array
OLGA - Organic Land Grid Array
    LGA -LAND Grid Array
SEC - Single Edge Cartridge or
    S.E.C.C. -Single Edge Contact Cartridge

and a copy others i can think ofoff the top of my head..

PPGA - Plastic Pin Grid Array
    S.E.P. - Single Edge Processor
FCPGA -Flip Chip Pin Grid Array
FCLGA -Flip Chip Land Grid Array
    BGA -Ball Grid Array
