I has studied A+ plus but i did not take the cert exam as it was just as a hobby. I now want to get into the industry so i want the cert. I still have my textbook A+ 2006 in depth will this still cover enough to get me through the current exams or should i update to the 2009 edition.

That decision is entirely up to you. If you can do it by the deadline, do the 2006 version. Otherwise, do the 2009 version.

Can you take both exams on the same day? or do you have to pass part one to go on to part 2?

You can do both on the same day, in any order you like.

I know because I did them both this week and they had me do Practical Application first :)

Yep, thanks! 2009 Edition though, don't know how it compares to the 2006.
