802.11b and g help

    in my notes on my comptia workshop day i have written that 802.11 a and g are compatible!!

    can i just confirm this is wrong and g and b are correctly compatible please

    as far as I was aware they are not compatible

    b and g both operate at the 2.4Ghz frequency where as a operates at the 5Ghz frquency, so yes you are correct.

    Some Wireless Access Points do however have two radio's in them that allow the sending of both the 2.4Ghz and the 5Ghz signals, but whilst they can be made to look like a single network they are actually two seperate ones.

    802.11g is backwards compatable with 802.11b :)

    I am confused are you asking about a and g or b and g?

    your title says b and g help but your question is about a and g :blink
