I am assisting the DBA at my company for about a year now. I read the book "Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Management and Administration" a couple of times and used the examples to test on my SQL box. I also heard about Transcenders and TestKing to test my knowledge. Which one out of these two are better? I remember Transcenders being good in the past years, but never heard of TestKing. Any recommendations between the two? Thanks.

Good thing you checked here before using TestKing. TestKing is a braindump - an illegal collection of questions stolen from the live exam. Using them is cheating, and if Microsoft suspects that you used them to study, you can be decertified for life and banned from getting any future certifications. Braindumps are a cancer to the IT industry and to certifications.

I would recommend that you stick to practice exams from legit companies, such as Transcender, Self Test, PrepLogic, MeasureUp, and my employer, Boson. Download demos from each of them and judge for yourself which one is best. Don't just get the cheapest one out there... go for the one that gives you the best quality information. Consider it a worthwhile investment in your career.

 

Thanks. I was checking other forums on other websites and was also told that Transcender is also a braindump. Just wanted to pass this along. I'll check out Boson.

 

Although Transcender is a competitor of ours, they are not a braindump. In fact, I used to work for them from 2001 to 2005. Unless they've changed since I've been gone, they're legit.

 

What title should i put once i pass this exam? This is just one exam, but what would the title be under my resume? Thanks.

That is the MS title, but what personal title should i use? Could i call myself a database specialist? Any other titles once you pass that exam?

I'm gonna use Database Technical Support Specialist.

 

I usually put the title of whatever my employer gives me.

 

After i studied hard to pass the exam, i will definitely change it.
