    Eurgh. What a horrible exam!

    I now have a headache.

Had to use both sides of the A4 acetate writing down pertinent bits of info from the essays they give you for each section. By the time I was on the fifth I had filled up the sheet so much that I was having to make notes wherever there was free space.

Totally thought I'd failed this one. Thankfully I passed with 781.

I don't like how my scores keep getting closer and closer to 700..

Looking back, the majority of questions weren't that bad, it's just down to time limits, especially as the prometric software prompts you each time you're down to your last five minutes ...Yeah, thanks program, as if I wasn't pressured enough by the time limits!! :x

For anyone attempting this exam in the future, I highly recommend the associated TestOut product (link = http://www.testout.com/products/mcse/70-297.htm

Bit of a change from my usual CBT Nugget approach, but I honestly believe it worked better with the rather dry MS Press book.

Right, off to find some painkillers.

Congrats and well done:) at this rate you'd be MCSE in less than a months time. I really do wonder how you get these exams out of the way so fast. Well by that mean wooh!:)

Thanks matey. It's down to a combination of things:-

    A) My boss is evil and just drops me in to projects to sink or swim

    B) Carrot on a stick - payrise if MCSE is completed by April

    C) Being actively encouraged to study at work = ~6 hours of study a day normally. This isn't just reading either. He found me out some very nice headphones the other week so I can watch CBT/TestOut vids at work too. It's very encouraging being in such an environment.

    D) Having a Systems Admin role where I get to find out how we do things, or if I don't understand then I ask my boss (as he designed and implemented our current infrastructure and is MCSE 2000 himself). I work with a lot of what's covered in the books on a daily basis.

    E) Company pays for the exams, so I don't have to wait. I'm currently kinda winging a lot of my most recent ones, because I know that I have secondshot to fall back on and I have a deadline for MCSE completion.

    F) EZE IT being a 2 minute walk down the road. *Thank you Gareth*

If you take a look at the exam tracking on my sig there was a good 6 month period where I didn't do any exams because of the new role, which is where I gained the majority of exposure to server technologies. The aim for the role was to very quickly train someone up to Systems Admin level. I jumped through enough hoops to get it, so I'm not going to stop now.

As craigie so eloquently puts it - Get balls deep.

Yeah just 294 mate. I know what it is, its the essays for questions that bore me to tears. I love anything to do with AD in the real world. That wouldn't normally stop me but I think, because I know I've got a new job anyway, my MCSE just doesn't seem so important to me right now. I will finish it, it would be a shame if I didn't. . . . I'll get motivated mate. Seeing fellas like yourself keep bashing away at the exams gives me a bit of motivation :biggrin

What I mean is this: the perfect scores for the exams you are taking might be closer to 800 (or 900) each time. Meaning, the perfect score might not always be the same. What if the perfect score for that exam is 781? There's no way you could have gotten better.

So... don't let it bother you, lil bro. You met their standard, and that's all that matters.

I'm not after perfect, far from it. I hated this exam :p A pass is good enough for me! :)

And if the maximum score was 781... then I would have had full bars on the assessment paper - and I didn't :p

But I see your point :p

I would have probably preferred that one in all honesty, and it counts as core credit for MCSE:S.

    *sigh*

I'll be more than happy if I never see another AD planning exam again, but I guess that's just wishful thinking, eh?
