Ian is a junior network administrator responsible for deploying a Microsoft hotfix to patch a recently discovered vulnerability in Internet Explorer 6.0 to the workstations on his company's Windows Server 2003 AD network. He is selecting the type of file to deploy for the hotfix. Which of the file extensions below is the one Ian's hotfix will have?

    A. .msi
    B. .mst
    C. .msp
    D. .msx

    C. msp

msi is the installer file, mst is the transform for "altered" or customised versions and msx is your red herring for the day Trip

    I hope ...

Time's up you two. Correct answer is...you guessed it...C: .msp. .msi is the extension for the Microsoft Installer Package and .mst is the transformer package (in case you'd like to publish Office 2003 in French). As the armored one said, .msx is a "red herring". More tomorrow.
