Well, just taken the exam and failed

Thought I'd done better (676) and that I'd passed. Must have just missed out by 1 or 2 questions!

No excuse but it didn't help that I was given a dodgy terminal that kicked me out twice (they were aware of the problem). Also, when I finished the exam it asked me to fill in a questionaire so I clicked next. The screen then went blank and the exam started again although the questions were all blank. I just clicked next again and then it told me I'd failed. Bit gutted though cos like I said, I thought I'd done well. Got to wait till next week now before I can do it again though, site wont let me re-book when the results are pending.

Commerisations Zom..and so close too! I remembering failing 294 by 3 marks and how that felt. But if you're like me you dust yourself down, hit the books and the labs again and nail that Beast to the freakin' wall!

It's also a bit worrying to hear how often the terminals used to sit the tests are failing...it's time Microsoft insisted on a minimum spec. for equipment hosting their exams IMHO.

Sorry to hear you didn't pass this exam, but not to worry as you weren't far off. The exam is called a beast because it's a tough exam, sure you'd nail it on your next sitting.

In the mean time which study materials and or practice test sims did you use? Thanks in advance and don't let this get to you as you'd get it on your net attempt.

 

I did a weeks course in Plymouth and have been using the MS Press 70-291 book as well as using transcender. It's the first exam I have failed and looking back there were a couple of questions I changed when I reviewed them. Suppose you should always trust your first instinct!

 

sorry to hear that i actually wrote the exam 2 days back and i passed with 936. i suggest u study this MCSA/MCSE selfpaced
training kit (exam 70291):
implementing, managing, and maintaining a
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 network infrastructure / J. C. Mackin, Ian McLean. and also try enough hands on. u knw i actually enrollrd with an IT school(NIIT) so i actually get enough hands on and i av windows server 2003 enterprise edition installed on my system so i even pratice on my own. all d best though

 

Re-took the exam this morning (thanks to second shot!) and passed with a score of 905. Quite a big difference from yesterday's dismal 676 fail!!

Next one is the 290 and then I'll be MCSA qualified, just have to find a job in IT then!

I thought you had to wait a week to do retakes?

I would have thought the same, I know the Cisco exams say at least 5-days.

 

You can do your first retake (your 2nd try at an exam) at any time. Subsequent retakes require a 14-day waiting period between attempts: link

I am new member in this forum and i'm hoping to get your valueble suggestions & feedback wrt 70-291 exam
Recently i passed the CCNA and Microsoft 70-290 exam. Today i took the 70-291 exam and i failed with a score of 619 I was shocked as I was expecting to pass.There were 48 questions of which one question was a simulation questions on DNS MX record (which i goofed up). There were lot of questions on command line utilities which i feel might contributed to my low score.
I've been preparing since last 3 weeks. I read the Microsoft 2277 coursebook and practiced exam questions from
1] Measure-up (at my training institute)
2] ********* (free download from internet)
3] *********** (free download from internet)
I need to know how to prepare well for the 2nd shot 70-291 exam Unfortunately there is no free 2nd shot right now. Do i need to practise a few more questions database or study from the Microsoft learning centre website ? Please do let me know. Thanking you.
