    Dear members,

I would like to run through a scenario as i dont understand the restore strategy which is as follows:

    Monday - normal backup
    tuesday - differential
    wednesday - copy
    thursday & friday - differential

If data is lost corrupt on thursday would i perform a restore from the normal and the copy? Does the copy backup included data from tuesday's differential?

    Thanks for your assistance

    Best Regards

If i'm reading it correctly, then yes, the copy would have the differential backup aswell, as it'd take a copy of all files in the directory you are backing up.

Differential means it only copies files that have been modified since the last backup.

So if you had lost data on a thursday, you want to restore wednesday's for the most recent files

You would just need the copy backup from Wednesday. A copy backup backs up everything but, unlike a normal backup, it doesn't clear archive bits on the files
