    Alright,

If anyone can throw any light on this one I would be most grateful.

I want to set up my laptop so that a document I currently view whilst docked on my company network is available offline. The document is stored in a shared folder named service on a 2000 file server. I need 2 answers for this and it seems so simple I cant understand why I keep getting it wrong.

1)On my laptop reinitialize the offline folders cache

2)On my laptop browse to service properties, click sharing tab and enable file caching

3)On my laptop open explorer, open folder options then select enable offline files

4)On the 2000 server, ensure I have the allow-modify permission for service

5)On the 2000 server open explorer, open folder options then select enable offline files

6)On the 2000 server browse to service properties then click sharing tab and enable file caching.

I would have said 3 & 6 but evidently not, up for discussion anyone?

This is NOT copywrited material or taken directly from any source.

I think it's 2 & 3 as offline files are enabled on the destination PC not the host PC. As long as the folder is already shared and you have permissions then I don't think you need to enable anything on the server. Then again I could be wrong.:blink

    I originally thought 3 & 6 too but 2 & 3 make more sense even though 2 & 6 are essentially the same.:blink
