To ease into the MS way of thinking and the MS exams I would suggest/recommend doing the 70-271 & 272 (get a MCP and then the MCDST). Then do the 70-270, 70-290 & 70-291 to finish with the MCSA (when you get more knowledge and experience). Out of all the MS exams, the MCDST exams are the easiest of them (not saying that the MCDST exams are easy, just easier compared to the other MS exams).

Some members have done 70-271/2 after the 70-270 as it can be used as a MCP towards the MCSA. If you pass the 70-270 then you should have no problems passing the 70-271/2 after.

In saying that in terms of difficulty it may be worth doing the 70-271/2 before taking on the 70-270.

Thanks for your advice guys, do you think it would be possible to do all three in six months, I've a lot of time on my hands at the moment.

It is possible. However this is dependant on how much you study and how much practice you put in :)

It is a realistic timescale but obviously it depends on how much time you put in each day. Also supporting Windows XP in a commercial environment will give you a head start.

I have passed 70-271 and 70-272 in about 4 weeks
ant will try to pass 70-270 in next 2 (so it willbe 7 in total)

but you have tobe preparedfor at least 40(!!) hours of study per week.
