Can anyone recommend a book/books from amazon as ive decided i should perhaps learn stuff the MS way

Cant go to mad and at least one book must contain the xp pro trial cd

I dont generally learn from books very well as im a hands on person, just need something to point me in the right direction.

There is only one book with XP pro trial.. the MS Press book and IMO its the best one for this exam:

MCSA/MCSE Installing,Configuring,& Administering Windows XP Professional

Just got to sort out my own software now as new rules at work mean no access to the under used action pack and i cant afford a technet subscription

 

I recommend MSPress and Sybex.

 

if you going to do 290 you might as well get the book now and use the 180 day trials...... thats 6 months which is fine for home labs...

 

I was just looking at the XP Pro and 2003 Server one, as for trial server, not a problem there, as the company i work for is signed up to the partner scheme, got plenty of trial 2003 server and exchange 2003.
