    Hello

Being a n00b to the MCDST, whilst studying and chatting on various forums, i have noticed that some people are doing the 270 exam first.

i thought the 270 was the next exam after the 271 and 272, due to it is more focused on sys admin, not grunts like us.

am i correct in thinking this, or should i look at 270 first?

    Thanks

    karl

As I understand it, 271 and 272 are more about troubleshooting and supporting an installation of XP on a box - you know, helpdesk type stuff.
270 is more about XP on a network and is quite a bit more complex as it includes server and domain stuff.
I haven't done MCDST myself, but I think despite the numbering system, that would be the place to start...

That is until the others come along and start saying A+ N+...

I agree with simon, although i did 270 then 271 & 272... MCDST is a gentle introduction to MS exam styles and how you need to study for the exams.

I agree with what Jonny said, first the 271, 272 and then 270. I however did it arse about and did 290 first then 270. After that 271 was more of a refresher.
