    I used to care about certifications. Now a days unless someone can back them up with experience, I'm not really that interested.

    Saying that, it's no small feat passing a MS exam, but I also have to say that remembering info isn't the same as comprehension. Was going for the exam worth it? Will he still want to work in IT in 10+ years time? This situation would be like someone without any work experience going for a job now with a MCP in Windows NT 3.51 - thanks but no thanks.

    But the kid passed the exam, kudos to him, he's done it and earned his "15 minutes of fame".

    Just waiting now for a 4 year old to pass a MS (or other professional exam) :S

    Like you say by the time he works the technology covered in the exam will be totally defunct. I suppose the only use is if he does go onto get a career in IT it could be an interesting two minute conversation. I'm a nerd working in IT but I wouldn't dream of letting my son study for an IT exam purely because it's not fun enough :D
