If you have a look at who's online Noel, you will see that it is mostly Yahoo! Spiders

spiders are used by search engines to go around and catalog webpages, they find what information is portrayed on them in the form of keywords, metadata, etc, and return it back to the search engine for cataloging
then when you do a search for something it can check against those pages as well

I recently implemented a great mod rewrite hack for the forums so all our content is being reindexed. Hence the large amount of search spiders at the moment.

Just a thought Si, but at the "Whats going on" section of the main page, there is (as of the time of this post)...

Thats more than a tad skewed, as it clearly includes non-members and spiders, etc. Is there a way that just the number of Members could be displayed as a more accurate figure ?

Although, thinks to self...Si always likes the figures to look, by fair means or foul ....8)

Not by default no, and I don't think it would be possible either, maybe there is a hack at vbulletin.org that could do it!
