2017 Objectives

Morning All,

Not sure if there is already something for this but thought I would start one. By all means, just merge )Or Delete) if this isn't needed. So, From a Study / Work perspective, what are your plans?

• CCENT by end of Feb, then start looking for a Networking job (Either internal or a new company),
• Apply for the Cisco Security Scholarship again in March,
• CCNA by end of May. Hopefully be in a Networking job by this point and depending on the Cisco Security thing.

Not sure from here, I think it all depends on the above. If I am in a new role, then see what training they want me to do...maybe try and get a CCNP out of the Employer etc. I MAY look at a Linux Cert as well.

2017 objectives are pretty well set for me:

• RHCSA - Heavy Linux use at my new place and I need to get up to speed
• CCENT - Again, all Cisco so need to start getting up to speed
• ITIL/Prince2 something projectey or processey, a huge amount of my role is about redesigning our internal processes for application and infrastructure support so some training in the available frameworks for this sort of stuff will be useful. Not that I have no idea what I'm doing, but experience + qualifications is always better than only one of the two.
• In my personal life it'll be either child or dog, depending on the outcome of some medical stuff me and the wife are working our way through.

This is my starting point, the RHCSA is already under way with a near full days training at home every Wednesday thanks to my new employer!

 

Comptia A+ and the next Apple cert in the track (ACP) big fan of mac os would love to support it more.

 

I will probably continue with VMware certs (VCIX) but also looking more for some Cisco UCS, RHCSA and something storage orientated (I have a new role managing all of the above in a team of 12) as well as something management related.

 

Don't forget Red Dead on PS4 ;)
