Well, i got a call the other day from an agency im registered with, saying that they had some contracts for a helpdesk technician for a 1st level vacancy. i obviously jumped at the chance. had a telephone interview today (thursday) and they told me that they would need me to start tuesday, so i asked them (seeing as the girl at the agency had gone home for the day) to also call me today to let me know.

20 mins after the interview, the HR dept call me back and offer me the position (although im obviously still waiting for confirmation with the agency). I gave my couple of days notice to my current job and wayhey!

Bottom line? Im about to be employed in my first IT position! Should be about 7.50 an hour (should be 13.96 USD if the conversion is correct), although is initially billed as a temp position until august!

Woohooo Fregal! Congrats. Don't worry that it only till August. It a step in the right direction. Plus they may decide to keep you in the end. Who knows. I'm happy for you fregal. Let us know how it goes and how you like it.

Well...... After my second day at work. im knackered. still havent adjusted to day shift yet! Its good though, open plan office, desks, not cubicles. basically just answering phones, querying the issue, seeing if its something i can resolve quickly, if not, its off to someone else! lol.

Thanks Guys. Its been a bit hectic - phones have been down, my email is on a server thats screwed, and im also on a different exchange server to the service desk email - but im gonna post more on that elsewhere! But its all good
