Well my first day went well at BeCogent (helpdesk job)..just training so usual boring stuff for 1st day but in this case it felt like back at college doing computing again lol...just the fact that we sat and went through loads of windows stuff. Found out that i will just be taking incoming calls/emails regarding AOL broadband which is cool.

seems easy but not gonna jump the gun here

Theres nothing like that feeling on your first day at a new place, make sure you know where the brew making equipment is asap if you already haven't. Then it talent spotting (or is that just me)......?

I see your working towards your A+ , and don't seem to have any certs at present.
Do you have a degree? or previous experience in an IT role?

Just wondering.

 

just my NC and HNC in computing...i took my HND in software but missed getting a 3 credit class thus not obtaining my HND oh well!!

there r people that don't have any IT background...but as i have seen u don't need it, well actually the people without it(that don't think i know it) do actually better on helpdesk apparently

How are you finding the job? Seen an advert in the Sunday Mail today for a Technical Helpdesk job with BeCogent. Wondering if it is worth applying for?

 

is worth a go pablo...job is good, good crowd to work with, me finding it great after first three days on the phones alone. love the fact that you get a mute button on the phone terminal cause you just press it and swear to high heaven when you have a complete moron on the phone..its funny.

all i do is support aol broadband which is better than supporting loads of different probs.

got my first pay slip too just after 2 weeks as its on the last day of the month and i think they made a mistake cause it said 3 grand lol!
