    Cheers JK,

A combination of Don Poulton's Book, Professor Messer, IT Free Training | Where free means free and the good old internet. Also ran Win Server 2008 R2 with several clients on Oracle Virtual Box on my laptop.

My method was to read the Chapter, take notes, view videos and then lab, lab, lab. A lot of time was also spent in TechNet.

Would also advise to taking breaks, getting some fresh air etc - Studied for 4/5 hrs, then went for a run (helps me relax and switch off), then if I was in the mood, would do a little more at night...

I also wrote out a lot of crib sheets in coloured pen and stuck them up on the wall in the flat - things like commands with switches, requirements for BranchCache, Ip6, DirectAccess and so on - easy to look at for a reminder.

That said, different approaches for everyone but this worked for me.... :)

Good work Archie. Labs for me are what makes all the difference. I find it hard to visualise so I need to see the things that are getting spoken about, likewise even in a CBT I can see the instructor clicking away but I need to do a few clicks of my own before it cements in my mind.

So what's next on the hit list?

Well done archie. I am stitting the exam in December. I recently passed Windows 8.1 configuring 70-687 and I have just bought the official MOAC study books (course book + labs book). I got them on eBay for £25 - they original cost over £160 new. My study regime is CBT Nuggets, Pluralsight videos and follow the MOAC books. Just wiped all traces of Windows 8.1 off my all my PCs and installed Windows 7 Enterprise Eval on main PC. Setting up new virtual lab with Oracle Virtualbox - 2008 R2 and two Win 7 clients. A separate physical setup of 2008 R2 and Win 7 client connected with a crossover cable. I have started the studying from the videos and I know a lot of it so far from doing the Windows 8.1 learning. There is a lot more in this material on deploying Windows 7 than there was in the Win 8.1 for deployment. Useful when applying for Windows 7 deployment contracts.
