Has anyone heard of http://www.traininghott.co.uk/

I am looking at signing up with them for an MCSE certification program but having bean stung once by another training company which used its own training documents which were w2k not w2k3, trainers who didn't understand the concepts to teach them I don't want to make the same mistake twice.

Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

it's cheap - bear in mind though that the price listed excludes VAT - but there's no way you will get the MCSE with 15 days of study.
so basically you will have to do all the study yourself i.e. at home.

i mean, 5 days for all this?

"HOTT guarantees that students will pass related certification exams, or HOTT will pay for a retake" implies that you have to pay for the exam first time round. which doesn't make it so cheap anymore.

either way be sure to read the fine print on any "guarantees" offered.

I suppose it could have been worse, Training IT Services or something then they could have called themselves TITS.

Could anyone reccommend any training companies off the record ?

 

What do you mean 'off the record'?

 

I presume one can't say one training establishment is better than another, as one could be working for a particular company and be advertising, which may not be in keeping with certforums guidelines... (i'm guessing)so i was asking for advice off the forum.

any suggestions ?

I appreciate you saying that you imagine we do not favour one company over another. We work hard to ensure that the Staff here are thoroughly neutral with regards to any training company - all will receive the same fair treatment, as will any of their students. I am proud of our Staff here for maintaining this stance at all times.

However, our Members are all here of their own free choice, and are therefore free to make comment on companies they have experienced, good or bad. The only time we take action against Members' posts about these companies is when they may make potentially defamatory or libellous comments about a company or it's employees that could place CertForums in a potentially legally unsound position.

Censorship is a last resort here, my friend - post your questions as you see fit.

 

I'm studying with NITLC at the moment and ahve had no reason to contact them apart they spelt my name worng on one of my certs. But the guy who works for NITLC who came round to see me to sign up Phones once every 4 months to see if I have any problems and if needed he sorts out any little problems I have. So I would recommend them.

How would you feel spending £4000 based on a strangers say so?

ISA is a beast to learn, it took me a year full time study before I felt ready to sit the very tough exam. Bear in mind that the exam focuses heavily on the enterprise edition and it's clustering capabilities.

These people, like just about all other training providers, lead the student into a false sense of security. The exams get tougher as you go through the MCSE, the first couple are straight forward enough but there are hurdles along the way which you must overcome or drop out. Unfortunately a lot of people drop out.
