Can't see SSID?
Hi guys,

I have a D-Link Dl-524 router and I have an 'Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection' driver on my laptop. It was all good until one morning when I tried to go on the internet and I got the Wireless configuration problem.. I saw a thread in CF which helped me solve the configuration problem. But I still have one more problem. When I open Network Connections it says "No wireless networks found in range" "Make sure the wireless switch on your computer is on. To see an updated list, click "Refresh Network list"."

I have a private wireless connection at my house which is password protection and I tried to connect RIGHT beside the router. No solution.. Everything was PERFECT until that morning.

Please help if you can. Thanks!

Inspect the machine. There may be a physical switch.
Look in the documentation.
Google.

If your wireless is on, you may have switched off the SSID broadcast on your router.

Couple of things. Make sure that the SSID matches on both the router and the wireless receiver. Also ensure that if you have enabled WEP, the key matches on both the router and the receiver. One further thing (although most modern routers auto configure this) is to make sure that both the router and the access device are switched to the same channel. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I can see switches on other laptops but my dad's laptop.. I can't seem to see it.. It's a Dell Inspiron 600..

If there is no physical wireless switch on the laptop then it will probably be a keyboard combination. On the Dell's this tends to be Fn + F2.

Yep. ^ What Operating System (OS) is on the laptop?

(it might be Windows XP for example)
