where to start

so i'm doing networking - ccent level - nearly ccna (fingers crossed) - but saw a comment from Mr boson on here, and thought it made sense to have some knowledge of the server side of things as well - just wondered if anyone had any advice on maybe which to start with MCSA? or maybe lower?

The 'similar threads' function of the forums produced this:- http://www.certforums.co.uk/forums/s...ad.php?t=27664

This thread provides a lot of information regarding experience, certs etc etc.

More specific information relating to your situation with the CCNA can be found in this thread - http://www.certforums.co.uk/forums/thread27585.html

There is also a plethora of similar threads if you use the search function.

Hope this helps,

Qs

That depends on how much real-world experience you have with those technologies.

It will do you no harm to study the microsoft 70-290/291 and so on, but most employers will want experience to back up any certs you have, so whether you take and advertise these certifications is a matter for your experience in a working IT environment.

Having said that there is nothing wrong with aquiring any new skills which may aid you in your current role, and maybe help you gain a more advanced role (then taking the certs)
