Without details of your network tha answer has to be to ask your network administrator. There very well may be corporate rules on this.

like everyone has said you will need to contact the network admin (and im hoping from this comment "do backup and monitor my network." you not the network admin!!) you going to have you create a VPN (virtual private network) to "dial in" to the location of your server - quite complicated but im sure your network admin will help you we will explain how!

Same as what everyones said really.

Ask IT, just a simple 'VPN' or 'Dial in' like zimbo said.

January - April 09' > 70-290

Thank you.
I'm quite worried that you don't know how to connect externally to your works network yet you have to monitor it

LOL, good point, just noticed that in the opening post.

User: "Can I connect to the network from home?"
IT guy: "Errr, maybe, if you figure out how to let me know."

Your work should have written procedures on how to do it

I didn't read that correctly then, you can't establish a VPN connection but you need to monitor a network.. maybe your to blame for the recession
