since 4 days now am unable to access www.ciwcertified.com website.it seems server is down. anybody has experience this.

Yep. They seem to be down, alright. Don't know why. Either their host went down in a big way or they're out of business.

A traceroute seems to get into problems at IOconnect. It may be their provider has a problem?

Hm - actually I'd say that the actual site is out, not the box.

prosoftlearning.com has the same IP as ciwcertified.com, but that responds. And it looks as if ioconnect, or someone beyond, has filtered out ICMP echo packets.

Edit - **** redirections. prosoftlearning *doesn't* respond after all - I was mislead by a link.

Hmmmm... well now a site appears under ciwcertified.com but it's the website of ComputerPrep. All links to ciwcertified.com and ciw-certified.com from inside the site go to ComputerPrep's front page too. Have they been hacked? Have they sold out? Gone out of business? It would be nice if they let the users know via the mailing list, eh? You can still sign up for courses, and still book exams, but how are you supposed to register for your actual cert?? This is NOT inspiring confidence.

Yes, I think you're right, which actually makes it all the worse that the url should suddenly point to a sister site without explanation. I suppose if their servers crashed and they had to re-upload all their sites, or recreate their DNS records, they might have transposed stuff by mistake? If it goes on much longer I'll be contacting my training provider to see if they have any more information.
