I don't get it. When did becoming a white hacker become bad?

Who better to work making antivirus and security software than someone who has learnt to create virus code and infiltrate systems. In the same way a white hat hacker/cracker who is an expert in breaking in to secure networks would be the very best guy to advise on how to secure these networks. I think the Antivirus companies are getting upset as their £30 a year subscription hold on the average computer user is really not all that.

White hat terrorists are the good guys. Al-Quida members all wear black hats.

I find it hard to take any of these security "experts" seriously. They can't even get the definition of hacker straight.
