NOD32 question
I have been trying to get intouch with NOD32 support just to ask a simple question but the contacts page is displaying an error, so I thought as a few people on here use it they may know.
At the moment I am running a 30 day trial of the security software, when I purchase it at the end of the trial and use it on my current computer can I migrate the software and license over to my new build?

Yeah, you get a username and password. You can then reinstall the AV on the new PC and reactivate the software as needed.

No probs mate, no need to worry about reinstalling the AV if you rebuild a couple of times. We have a seperate license for our test LAN at work and I have reinstalled the AV about 10 times in the last year with no problems.
I think you can basically download the definitions for a year (depending on the subscription) with the username and password and it isn't like a MS style activation.

Yep, the NOD32 license is linked to your account and not your machine. This gives you the freedom to install it on any machine one at a time.

Sounds good then.
Another question: How is it that NOD32 uses very little resources where as other AV/security software use loads is it just down to better code?

Probably, and it doesn't have 100 useless features like some other well known brands.

it does seem as if it put together well, and does what you want. I have had some security software in the past that seem to forget the permissions etc but this doesn't so I am happy.

Dont know to be honest but other customers I support use Sophos, McAfee, Norton etc. which always cause problems with the performance of a PC.
Even upgrading NOD to the latest version hasnt made any difference in the amount of resouces it uses, happy days!

Nortons was the worst for me, that sucked more than anything that has sucked before. It will never grace a PC that I own ever again.

Supposidly the new version (dunno if its out yet) is going to have zero impact on system performance. Yes, I laughed when I read that!
I might download a trial just for testing but I doubt it will be as good as NOD32.
Still need to test Microsoft Forefront AV as well, the “to do” list is getting out of hand!

lol, make sure the test PC isn't really needed. The version I had was hardly supposed to run a lot resources but the cpu was always running high. This new one will probably blow it up, I'll stick with NOD32

I`ll stick with NO32 as well but things change. About 3 years ago all the networks I supported were on Norton and now most of them are on NOD32.
