I have symantec corporate edition server installed on my server.
But when i go into symantec system center the server always reports it's self as being disabled. Ive tryed uninstalling and wre-installing but to no effect. The server is running Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition

What version of Symantec Corporate is it?

If it is an earlier version then perhaps the OS doesn't support it.

Why do you have the Corporate Version on a home network?

    The version is 10.0.0.359

And i have it on a home network because i can check if pcs have a virus without having to go on every computer.

Not too sound rude but you could email Symantec Technical Support and they will be able to help you out.

I’ve spent the last week contacting technical support for various software applications at work; need to get our moneys worth for the support contracts! :biggrin

    jackd,

    Questions:
    1. Do you have "Symantec _Antivirus_ Corporate Edition?" - http://www.symantec.com/Products/enterprise?c=prodinfo&refId=805 . If not, which specific software title do you have running on your server?
    2. Which year did you purchase the Symantec product?
    3. Did you ever have to "renew your subscription?" At that time, did you renew or upgrade?

    Did it work before?
When you install the corporate edition you have to specify if it is going on a managed or unmanaged machine (i.e. which installation is the master and pushes the updates out).
Where did you buy it from? There are a lot of dodgy copies of this floating around.

First make sure that the respective services are set to automatic start.

Then you need to play, sorry, configure the symantec server settings. After that when installing the clients you need to select the managed option and then point it at the symantec server.

Did you push the install to the clients from the main server ?

if it is the same as the corporate edition we have then open the Norton MMC then goto tools and Client Install this takes you to a screen where you select your domain and then the client you want to roll the install to

Have you done this ? if not how did you install the clients ?

This way the server will be the source of updates and such like for the client
