    ......with myself

For imaging machines at work, although not with WAIK. Ive managed to rush around like a headless chicken and not delete the partition that i was writing over, causing the windows.old file to be still there, so pointlessly taking up space. So went round and did the lot again, 2 and a half rooms worth, i hate doing things twice.

My only saving grace was admitting that i did it and then got straight back on the job to complete it.

Only one question, could i have just deleted the windows.old files or would that of caused issues down the line ??

If you're happy with your image and there was no user data needed from there, I'd have just deleted it mate.

Well ive been at it all day, effing imaging what ive already imaged, and a realise we should have WAIK and a license server, cos this is taking too long.

Im extremely new to this, but would anyone know/ or point me in the direction of some sort of file, like an unnattend i suppose, where i can say this software has this key etc, and run like you would a batch file, just to save time ????? I mean this is all good exp but if i can get everything done tomorrow, i will be a happy bunny like.

    Cheers

    Yes Sparky

We dont for some reason have a licence server set up nor do we have anything to do with WAIK. We have to set the language, activate windows, office, and add outlook if staff need it, put the key in dream weaver and then register each copy over email, and depending on what room its for, we have to install other software etc, so its a ball ache

Strange one - the last image I did with WDS it basically meant booting from the PC NIC and then it deployed the image. When it booted up you only had to type the PC name when it started up type in the Windows 7 product key.

Would have liked to put in a licence server but not enough time.

    I know, very strange

When i did it on my voluntary work it was basically just a straight off deployment. I watched a video on it yesterday where you got the OOBE experience, for next year i will have that set up, no way im going to go and do that all again, nethertheless, all exp at the end of the day

Best way to look at it - all experience for you. A project for another day to get a decent image deployment sorted out.

Had Citrix in the States on a remote session as the Europe guys couldn't sort it. Took a week to sort out, totally unacceptable, but everything is now working.

Sorry Ed didn't mean to hijack your post :thumbleft
