Can anyone please advise what would be the best way to get certified in software packaging, like the best courses\training and exams to take and obviously the best or most common used software that would be used, thanks

Please give some more information, are you wanting to specialise in the like of App-V, AdminStudio, Appsense, VMware View (ThinApp), SCCM etc? If so then ideally you want to be looking at the packages themselves and get some experience with them.

I have done a bit of work with both ThinApp and SCCM (MSI Packaging using the likes of Orca and various application specific MSI wizards (thinking Adobe here)) and it takes a bit of getting used to having to wipe\create a package 10+ times to get it right.

You may also need to get familiar with SCCM and other OS\Application deployment tools as well.

    thanks for the reply

ok well i have a lot of experience with SCCM 2007 and 2012 so i am clued up on the actual setup and deployment of software onto various OS's, ive also done a lot of the discover work for software packagers before they then package so i know the processes well i would just like to be able to package the software myself

APP-V and admin studio is what i would like to specialise in as the nature of my contracts everything seems to be moving in that direction so its mainly what good courses/training and certification would be suit me , whats the best route to take to get me up to speed on say... being given any type of software and then packaging it for the company i would be working for
