70-294 passed. that's me done for the MCSE
Well I passed 70-294 today which means I've now finally achieved my goal of updating my W2K MCSE to W2K3. I meant to do it ages ago when I could have just sat the two upgrade exams but apathy got the better of me. In some ways its probably been a better learning experience and forced me to get a deeper understanding rather than just skim the surface.

The 70-294 was an interesting experience, not because of the exam itself which was pretty much what I expected, but rather because the exam crashed twice, the second time on the last question. Didn't exactly help my exam karma but not as bad as my 70-240 one shot upgrade exam experience a few years ago. The fire alarm went off mid exam and the test centre was on the top floor of a tower block. When we eventually got let back into the building we had 40 minutes less to do the exam and I was gasping for breath from climbing 25 floors.

It appears the road to MS certification is paved with obstacles; not all of them academic...

Heh, interesting "challenges" indeed. I think I've had just 1 exam crash in my life... but it too crashed twice in the same sitting.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too. To be honest I think by the time you've passed 290,291 and 293 then there's not that much new in 294 and I certainly found 294 easier to revise for than 293 simply because I like AD and hate certificates!

Here here, I'm repping you for that! Thanks mate, not long till I'll be in your MCSE club hopefully Actually can't wait to get 293 out of the way so I can study for 294. Kinda gutted I have to do 298 security design instead of 297 AD design but never mind . . . .
