help required for installing MYSQL DB on win Xp

Hi
i have been trying to installed MYSQL on win xp and after the installation when programe configures i get a debug error says assertation fail and for documention about the visual c++ assertation i should check out on microsoft i have installed visual c++ libarary but its nt workin any one knows about the slution plz reply

Can you post the exact error ? I've installed previous versions of MySQL on windows without issue. Normally all required libraries would be shipped with the binary distribution.

I agree with dmarsh - I've not had any problems doing this.

Which MySQL package did you install? Most of the ones I've seen are complete and have no problems.
